This proposed class action has been brought against Gojo Industries Inc. and Gojo Canada Inc. (“Gojo”) on behalf of all individuals in Canada who have purchased at least one Purell hand sanitizing product that has a representation on its label regarding the efficacy of the hand sanitizer in killing germs.
The action alleges that Gojo made, and continues to make, false and misleading claims regarding the efficacy of Purell products contrary to the federal Competition Act. The lawsuit seeks, among other things, to recover for damages on behalf of Canadian consumers who purchased Purell products with the efficacy representations.
